Hill Kourkoutis is an award-winning artist, producer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, actor, filmmaker and visual artist based in Toronto, Canada.
As a musician, Hill has had the honour of playing for The Weeknd, Serena Ryder, The Cliks, Martha and the Muffins and Tara Slone in addition to her own project Hill & The Sky Heroes. As a songwriter her songs have been recorded by Meghan Patrick (WMG), The Cliks (WMG), Mookie and the Loyalists (Sony), Dane Hartsell, Martha and the Muffins, Andrea England and Graph and appeared in film/tv shows like Degrassi: The Next Generation (MuchMusic/MTV), Offspring (Network Ten), Pulling Strings and ads for Virgin Mobile and Urban Planet. She has also composed film/tv/ad music and scores for Cadillac, BAMN Productions and ACTRA. On the production front, Hill has produced records for artists such as Hill & The Sky Heroes, Eh440, Graph, and The Cliks and done remixes for Dear Rouge, July Talk, Adam Cohen and SATE.
Skye Sweetnam is a Juno nominated recording artist, a songwriter, and a music video director. Skye signed with Capitol Records LA at 14, the same year she was the youngest songwriter ever to be signed to EMI Publishing (now Sony/ATV). Skye has released four full-length records to date, as a solo artist and with her internationally acclaimed rock band Sumo Cyco.
Skye has performed live in over 25 countries worldwide including opening for Britney Spears for 50 shows on her Onyx Hotel Tour. Skye has been a featured performer on CTV, MTV, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and many more. Skye appears on over 30 album compilations worldwide, she has written and performed theme songs for Sega, Disney, Nickelodeon and Mattel as the singing voice of Barbie.
As a songwriter she has written with multiple Grammy Award winners such as Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, The Matrix and punk rock legends Tim Armstrong (Rancid) and Mark Hoppus (Blink 182).
Directing is also a passion of Skye’s. As well as gaining millions of views online, Skye’s directed music videos that have been featured on YTV, CMT, Much Music & more.
A multiple Juno award winning Composer, Multi-Platinum Musician, Producer and Performer, John “JK” Kanakis has been working in the Canadian Music, Film and Television Industry for over 20 years.
Formally trained as an Architect, JK brings his unique sense of creativity to every Project and Artist he works with – both behind the scenes and on stage.
JK has worked with some of the biggest names in music including such artists as Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, ‘NSYNC, Ashley MacIsaac, Nelly Furtado and Jacksoul.
As a Composer and Mixer, JK has worked on films appearing at Cannes, Sundance, Slamdance and TIFF. Commercial clients include Coke, Bank of America, IBM, Toshiba, Toyota, Fisher Price and Captain Morgan to name a few.
Geoff Torrn is a guitar player and song writer living in Toronto. He has worked and written with artists in various genres including: Brett Kissel, Madeline Merlo, Banners, Shawn Hook, Amanda Marshall, Virginia to Vegas, Alyssa Reid, LeRiche and Jarvis Church. Currently he is working with platinum selling country artist Tim Hicks.
For 20+ years, Eric Alper has been at the forefront of the Canadian entertainment industry – making the Public in Public Relations his business. His enthusiasm, encyclopedic knowledge of the past and present have made him the go-to music commentator for CTV, Rogers, Bell, Shaw and Evanov. He is also host of one of the top-rated SiriusXM shows “ThatEricAlper”.
With over one million followers, friends and connections across his social media platforms, it’s clear to understand why he has been named a “must follow” by Billboard, Paste and National Post among others. Artists are storytellers and Eric tells their stories. He does this with the skills of a seasoned PR storyteller, powered by his unbridled enthusiasm for music and the relationship that he holds with each artist.
Karen Bliss is the Canadian correspondent for Billboard. Since her teens, her work has been published by dozens of outlets, including Rolling Stone, Pollstar, NME, Time, Spinner, MSN and Melody Maker. Karen has interviewed hundreds of artists, including Eminem, Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Page, Shania Twain, Michael Buble, Metallica, Britney Spears, 50 Cent, The Who’s Pete Townshend, Christina Aguilera, Foo Fighters, Pink, No Doubt, Justin Timberlake and Bryan Adams. In 2013, she was named Music Journalist of the Year at CMW’s Canadian Music & Broadcast Industry Awards. She is also the founder of the music-heavy anti-tabloid Samaritanmag.com, about good people trying to change bad things. Along the way, she has taught music journalism at Centennial College; co-produced a documentary film, Chasing Fortune; created an anti-racism animated PSA, The Girl with Pinhead Parents, voiced by Nelly Furtado, Chris Bosh, Jully Black and others; co-authored a book on the 40th Juno Awards. Paul got his start in the entertainment business on YTV where he hosted and produced everything from game shows to The Zone.
Following YTV he worked at CTV as a host, writer and producer on eNow and eTalk and at CMT as host writer and producer of The Chevy Top 20 Countdown and 2 syndicated weekly radio shows.
He won a CMA Award for International Broadcaster Of The Year in 2016.
During all of this time Paul interviewed just about everyone who made music or appeared on a screen.
Paul currently works with Entertainment Tonight Canada and creates original content for Ole, one of the largest music publishers in the world.
He also owns a drum kit. A Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute. It’s badass.
A 26-year veteran of the live concert business, Toronto-based Yvonne Matsell has been integral to the careers of countless Canadian acts – Broken Social Scene, Feist, Billy Talent, Ron Sexsmith, Barenaked Ladies – which she nurtured in many of the marquee clubs that she booked, such as the Legendary Horseshoe and the el Mocambo. She is the co-founder of the NXNE Music Festival, and was also the artistic director during her tenure, booking thousands of acts from all over the world.
Yvonne has built relationships with every facet of the music industry, in Canada, the U.S. and abroad, dealing on a daily basis with managers, agents, A&R, media and the artists themselves. She is known not only for the discovery of new talent but for also turning former venues like Ultrasound Showbar and Ted’s Wrecking Yard into industry hotspots.
